Beyond Templates: Unleashing
Creativity With Website Builder Features

Websites have become an essential part of every business’s digital presence.
However, creating a high-performing and outstanding user experience requires
coding skills, attention to detail, and creativity. It’s also challenging to make a site
responsive, accessible, and compatible across all devices and browsers. In fact, 89%
of consumers would move to a competitor if the brand’s website offers them a poor
user experience.

Templates provide a convenient solution to these challenges by providing pre-built
structures and designs that can be customized for specific needs. This makes them
a popular choice for businesses with limited resources and technical expertise. In
addition, templates can be relatively affordable compared to a custom-built website.

Despite their convenience, many users struggle with the limitations of using
templates. For example, some templates use excessive scripts and components that
increase the overall file size and slow down a website’s loading speed. They may
also lack important features such as search engine optimization (SEO) that are
crucial to a website’s visibility online.

In this article, we explore a better way to build websites with the help of templates
without losing their power, flexibility, and performance. We introduce a framework
based on nested templates that allows developers to define their own templates
while also maintaining the ability to reuse, extend, and customize them. This
framework is implemented in OSTRICH, a web application that uses nested
templates to create, modify, and apply templates on websites and digital products.

In OSTRICH, a nested template can be defined with a set of rules that determine the
number and types of parameters that can be used to generate the template’s
model. In addition, the identifiers of template model elements and their applications
are maintained as dependencies between the templates, which ensures that
instantiated models are valid. Furthermore, the nested templates allow the
developer to easily track and apply customizations to the template model.

The nested template framework is implemented in OSTRICH as a metamodel,
allowing for the definition of new templates while preserving existing ones. It is
possible to add new nested templates to the metamodel by adding new identifiers
that refer to the template model. Similarly, it is possible to extend an existing
template by adding new parameters.

With the addition of nested templates, OSTRICH can support the creation of highly
complex and dynamic template models. In addition, the nested template system also
provides a flexible interface for defining a website’s layout and structure. For
instance, a developer can specify the number and types of pages, the header,
footer, and sidebars to be displayed.

Beyond email templates provide a convenient and easy way to customize the emails
sent to your employees, customers, or assignments. To use an email template,
navigate to the employees, customer contacts, or assignments page and select the
template you want to use from the list. The selected template will automatically
populate the email with information from the corresponding record. To learn more
